Because your story matters here.

My practice is built on a diverse range of experiences that inform the way I work today. My background includes a foundation in sales, which honed my ability to connect and communicate with people from all walks of life, alongside clinical NHS experience working directly with patients in high-pressure environments. I have also gained invaluable experience within the charity sector, specifically working with Tameside, Oldham and Glossop (TOG) Mind. There, I supported individuals navigating a wide spectrum of mental health challenges, helping them tap into their own inner resources to achieve better wellbeing. Additionally, I advocate and do presentations in the community on topics such as Domestic Abuse and Trauma.
In our sessions, you are free to ‘fully bring yourself’ exactly as you are—without judgement. Whether you are navigating the heavy weight of depression, anxiety, relationship problems and stress, or working through the complexities of trauma, PTSD, and addiction, our work is curated at your pace and tailored to your needs.
As a fully qualified registered member of The British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy, I bring an Integrative approach of counselling and therapy ensuring that I have many ‘tools in the tool box’ as I help you navigate any challenges through careful exploration.
Beyond crisis support, I am equally passionate about helping you with self-discovery and personal development. Therapy isn’t just about “fixing” what is broken; it’s about discovering who you are when you aren’t just trying to survive.
In my room, there is no judgment—only a space where your story matters here, exactly as it is.
I truly believe that entering counselling is an act of profound courage. It takes immense bravery to look at the parts of our lives that hurt and decide to do something different. It is the process of meeting your challenges with a dedicated ally, moving from a place of ‘getting by’ to a place of genuine self-understanding.
You do not have to navigate life’s challenges—or your own growth—alone. Don’t hesitate to reach out; I truly look forward to hearing from you.

I had a really positive experience working with Melissa for transactional analysis therapy. She was incredibly friendly and approachable, and she explained concepts in a way that was easy to understand and genuinely helpful. Melissa consistently went above and beyond to support me, and I always felt listened too and cared for. I’m very grateful for the work we did together and would highly recommend her
I’m incredibly grateful for the support and guidance I’ve received from Mel over the years, and continue to receive. From the very first session, I felt heard, understood, and completely supported. Her calm, compassionate approach created a safe space for me to open up and explore challenges I had struggled with for a long time. Mel offers thoughtful insights, practical tools, and gentle encouragement that have helped me gain clarity and confidence in myself. Thanks to her support, I feel far more equipped to manage difficult emotions and situations, and I continue to learn new strategies and ways of coping in day-to-day life.
You’re a lovely lady & I’m so grateful for our work together. It was really hard at times to share such painful memories and emotions but you always made me feel safe and secure to do so. I can’t describe how freeing it feels to share my pain and for it to be heard and understood by someone else. For the first time in years I don’t feel so alone.I can’t recommend her highly enough. Mel’s professionalism, empathy, and genuine care have made a significant difference in my life xx
From Victim to Victor with oodles of self compassion! This is what my counselling with Melissa has shown me! She is like a warm hug! I always leave the session feeling lighter and clearer. I can’t recommend her enough, thank you!
Mel has helped me to understand all my destructive negative self -talk and understand my path and my anxiety. I truly feel like I have developed my awareness and I am happy that I now have a better understanding of myself and others around me. I find the educational parts of the sessions are really interesting and I feel like I always gain something from it. It has rekindled a passion in me as I want to expand and to be my best self. My relationships have improved because I am in a much better place.
I’ve been seeing Melissa as my therapist for some time and I can’t recommend her highly enough. From our very first session she made me feel comfortable and understood. There were times when our conversations led to moments of panic for me but Melissa was always there to help me navigate through those difficulties, bringing me back to a place of calm.
