Welcome,

Hi my name is Melissa,

Because your story matters here.

My Journey & Approach

My path into therapy was not a straight line from a textbook; it was a journey paved by my own graduation from the ‘school of hard knocks.’ Long before I began my formal clinical training, I realised I had a natural knack for listening; friends and even strangers always felt a deep sense of comfort in opening up to me freely.
This innate ability to hold space for others, combined with my own hard-won resilience, is what ultimately called me to this profession. It ensures that the care I provide is both clinically expert-led and deeply human. I don’t just work from a place of theory; I work from a place of genuine understanding.
My story is also one of transformation—moving from the front lines of life’s struggles to a place where I can now offer you a steady, expert hand which is why my approach is less about ‘fixing’ you and more about walking alongside you with practical tools and genuine understanding.

Professional Foundations

My practice is built on a diverse range of experiences that inform the way I work today. My background includes a foundation in sales, which honed my ability to connect and communicate with people from all walks of life, alongside clinical NHS experience working directly with patients in high-pressure environments. I have also gained invaluable experience within the charity sector, specifically working with Tameside, Oldham and Glossop (TOG) Mind. There, I supported individuals navigating a wide spectrum of mental health challenges, helping them tap into their own inner resources to achieve better wellbeing. Additionally, I advocate and do presentations in the community on topics such as Domestic Abuse and Trauma.

How I Can Help

In our sessions, you are free to ‘fully bring yourself’ exactly as you are—without judgement. Whether you are navigating the heavy weight of depression, anxiety, relationship problems and stress, or working through the complexities of trauma, PTSD, and addiction, our work is curated at your pace and tailored to your needs.
As a fully qualified registered member of The British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy, I bring an Integrative approach of counselling and therapy ensuring  that I  have many ‘tools in the tool box’ as I help you navigate any challenges through careful exploration.
Beyond crisis support, I am equally passionate about helping you with self-discovery and personal development. Therapy isn’t just about “fixing” what is broken; it’s about discovering who you are when you aren’t just trying to survive.
In my room, there is no judgment—only a space where your story matters here, exactly as it is.

Taking the First Step

I truly believe that entering counselling is an act of profound courage. It takes immense bravery to look at the parts of our lives that hurt and decide to do something different. It is the process of meeting your challenges with a dedicated ally, moving from a place of ‘getting by’ to a place of genuine self-understanding.
You do not have to navigate life’s challenges—or your own growth—alone. Don’t hesitate to reach out; I truly look forward to hearing from you.
